(Growth mindset)

Iris Message

"We are a perpetual work in progress"
As the clock ticks, we are all compelled to move forward without a stop. Once we slow down the pace, we may be overwhelmed by the fear and the anxiety of being left behind or losing rare opportunities to achieve more. However, what is inevitable in the life journey is that we will encounter challenges along the way and be at a low ebb sometimes, which might expose us to a downward spiral if we cannot retrieve the strength to conquer the pull of setback and find the way back to the right track. Helpless as it may seem, it is what we are actually presented and dealing with in our lives.
Now that it is an unavoidable part in the journey, then why not lean in and figure out the solutions. Solutions won’t emerge as soon as you expect everytime, yet bear in mind that it is of no help to be trapped at where you are for a long time since difficulties still remain unresolved and meanwhile the wheel of daily life keeps spinning. No one knows what happened to you and how you get hurt if you don’t tell them a thing, yet sometimes we are fully occupied by loads of works and feel too tired (or too complicated) to explain. Under the circumstance, it seems that it is better to concentrate on what you are able to be in control of and play your role well. Only when you handle things well and put them in order will you feel a true sense of relief and have time to develop an insightful mind to think clearly. And probably in the process, you will come up with new thoughts, being capable of thinking from different perspectives.
Many people believe that time heals; however, I somehow don’t agree with it. It is the genuine acceptance of the current state/reality and the growth of mindset that help you recover from the sorrow and the pain. We should acknowledge the truth that we are not omnipotent beings and it’s hard to make everything perfect. “We are a perpetual work in progress.” This is an inspiring sentence I read recently. What I’ve learned from it is the spirit of embracing our fragility and strengthening what we are adept at, which can spur us to walk farther and longer.

社會學程的同學真的是大多數老師都會喜歡的一個班,課堂配合度超高、學生學習態度積極,總是會讓老師充滿動力做更多教學嘗試;
